Explore the world
through music

Five musicians in interlocking circular shapes: a Native American in headdress, Louis Armstrong, an accordion player, a dark skinned vocalist with microphone, and a light skinned violinist.

Music Workshop provides free, culturally responsive music education materials to K-8 teachers everywhere, empowering them to engage, educate and inspire their students through music.

The Call

As Music Workshop approached the milestone of their 10th anniversary, they were ready for a major upgrade to their website and brand.

They had extended their reach from one school in Portland to nearly 10,000 schools worldwide, but they still had the brand of a local nonprofit. Plus, piecemeal improvements to their website and teacher portal over the years had resulted in poor user experience.

They needed a fresh new brand and website to support their mission by inspiring teachers to use their program and donors to support it.

Our Response

Roger That invigorated Music Workshop’s brand to engage and motivate visitors, and refined their messaging to clearly communicate Music Workshop’s unique approach to music education.

We streamlined their website’s performance and built in plenty of flexibility so it is ready to grow with them as they continue to expand their mission.

We worked in tandem with their in-house developer to improve user experience for the newly upgraded teacher portal and align it with the new brand, providing an easy and seamless experience for teachers.

“From our beginnings as a scrappy ‘small but mighty’ nonprofit team, we are maturing into an industry leader that is strong and innovative. Our new look reflects that growth, confidence and joy.”
